- Niska offered the following resolution and moved its adoption:
- WHEREAS, the 66 members of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Caucus in the Minnesota
- House of Representatives have been absent during the first week of the legislative session; and
- WHEREAS, the continued absence of the DFL Caucus deprives the Minnesotans residing in
- their districts of representation during critical debates and legislative work conducted in the
- House of Representatives; and
- WHEREAS, the citizens of Minnesota expect the House of Representatives to address pressing
- state issues, including the allocation of funds for the state budget to avert a government
- shutdown; and
- WHEREAS, a minimum of 68 votes is required for the House of Representatives to pass
- Legislation; NOW, THEREFORE,
- BE IT RESOLVED that the Minnesota House of Representatives hereby calls upon Governor
- Tim Walz to direct the Minnesota State Patrol to locate the absent members of the DFL Caucus
- And ensure their presence in the House of Representatives no later than 3:30 PM on Thursday,
January 23, 2025.
